I had the opportunity to attend Singapore Fashion Week this year and I was super excited. I’ve only experienced Fashion Week in NYC so I was curious to what the vibe was going to be like in Singapore. During my stay I was able to attend Blue Print, a trade show for East West Exchange in Asia. Emerging designers and established designers are allowed to showcase their current pieces for the Asian market in one big stop. They had designers from Korea, Hong Kong and Europe, to name a few, displaying beautiful pieces of jewelry to eccentric hats to wear to high tea. This is a great place for store owners and on-line entrepreneurs to find great new designers and new items for their inventory. I loved the vibe of the trade show filled with buyers, fashionistas and press who were all on the go checking out what the designers had in store for them. Hello Singapore! Another visit to Singapore with the hubby while he’s at work so I could get familiar with the area. It’s a good thing since we’ll be moving to Singapore by summer. It’s crazy that its been over 6 months since we moved abroad to Malaysia and will soon relocated to Singapore. Thank goodness hubby and I were able to take some pics for the blog prior to grabbing dinner with some friends.
Living in a new country has been an adjustment for me in terms of shopping. I sometimes find it difficult to find stores that I like to shop at, especially in a country I’m not familiar with. So I’m thankful for online shopping. I was able to find my I Love Nuevo York t-shirt on Shopbop. Shopbop has been one of my favorite online retailers so it was relief that they ship overseas. There are not a lot of online stores that deliver to Malaysia but I was thankful that trustee Shopbop ships to Malaysia. My prayers are answered! Thank you!
I had an amazing weekend in Singapore and I can’t wait to come back. It’s crazy that pretty soon hubby and I will be moving here within the year. Well thank goodness Malaysia is only a 45min flight to Singapore so the plane ride won’t be that bad. At least I was prepared for the Airport because it’s always cold in there. I always need to make sure prior to traveling that I have a jacket (check) a big purse (check) and comfy clothes (check). Good bye Singapore but I shall be back soon. Can’t wait to explore the country’s history, culture and food… and also to explore all the shopping options (Necklace: Zara – Similar Necklace at Zara, Boots and Tank: HM pour Isabel Marant, Bag: Givenchy Nightingale, Jeans: All Saints, )
I was very excited to check out “The Little Black Jacket” exhibition during my trip to Singapore. The exhibit was a tribute to Chanel’s Classic black jacket with a twist. Once I stepped into the gallery, I was surrounded by rows and rows of portraits of different celebrities, designers and pop culture personalities all wearing the iconic jacket. Karl Lagerfeld is a man of many artistic talent. Not only is he an iconic designer, but his is also a phenomenal photographer. He photographed different individuals with their interpretation of the “jacket”. The star studded portraits ranged from Song Hye Kyo, a Korean actress, to Alexander Wang. The exhibit initially started in April 2012 in Tokyo Japan and traveled throughout the world to London and currently in Singapore. If you love Chanel or just want to check out great artistic photos, I highly recommend to check out “The Little Black Jacket”. The exhibit will remain in Singapore until January 1 so please definitely check it out.

Hello from Singapore!!! Hubby had a business trip to Singapore so I decided to tag along. Why not since hotel was free, airfare was fairly cheap and I wanted to see my new home in a few months. I immediately fell in love with Singapore as we drove from the airport to Marina Bay because it reminded me of driving on Lake Shore drive in Chicago. Also, I really liked how clean everything was, their convenient public transportation and overall safe feeling. When hubby was finally free from his busy schedule we ventured out to Orchard Road to do a little window shopping. Orchard Road was decorated with Christmas trees and lights, which still feels very strange to me since it’s over 90 degrees outside. It’s definitely an adjustment for me to walk outside with sandals and a tank top while all the windows displays are adorned with Christmas decorations. The Chicago girl in me is so used to freezing temperatures, snow on the ground, winter jackets and moon boots.
Curated Editions KL recently had a one day private sale event for their clients at the Ritz Carlton. I was very excited to start a new job and be surrounded by beautiful bags, shoes and jewelry. But I was even more excited to work with the two fashionable women that started Curated Editions KL. Chanela Jamidah and Angie Lai are the founders of the luxury good company, which recently had merged together. Not only are they both beautiful, they are both very successful business women in Malaysia and Singapore. Angie Lai is a fashionista known throughout Singapore for her keen sense of style. Chanela Jamidah is one of the top icons in the Malaysian fashion industry and also a princess of the Royal family. Combining these two fashion powerhouses provides shoppers in Malaysia and Singapore the opportunity to indulge in a truly elite shopping experience. Thanks Curated Editions KL for a fun filled day of luxury goods, spending time with new friends and sharing the “fashion” experience. Ainah is another fashionable member of the Curated Editions KL team and was kind enough to show me the ropes at the event. She meticulously handles all matters for Angie and Jamidah with such grace and style. At the Curated Edition Event we were able to showcase brand new designer bags and jewelry, while clients browsed at the selection of goodies. Some of the designer handbags selected for the event were Celine, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Chanel.
Chanel and Celine anyone? What girl can say no to these beautiful bags. Many clients of Curated Editions KL attended the event to get their hands on some of the most coveted bag of the season; AHHHHHH!!!!! When I met Angie, she was in the middle of bringing in the jewelry pieces. OMG, I basically was in heaven when I saw the collection. I had to make a quick decision, do I still work at the event or just buy everything and go home? Well the husband took care of that decision and I stayed to work the whole event. I still couldn’t help myself and had to try on some of the accessories that consisted of Noir to Tulola. Can you guess jewelry piece I purchased for myself? *hehe* Many of the happy clients that left with their purchases. Who wouldn’t be happy with all the goodies we had?Thank you Curated Edition KL for having me on your team and for a fun and eventful day. Please check out their Instagram page under @curatededitionskl and their website will soon be up. If you have any inquiries regarding their handbags and jewelry feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org
