I had the opportunity to attend Singapore Fashion Week this year and I was super excited. I’ve only experienced Fashion Week in NYC so I was curious to what the vibe was going to be like in Singapore. During my stay I was able to attend Blue Print, a trade show for East West Exchange in Asia. Emerging designers and established designers are allowed to showcase their current pieces for the Asian market in one big stop. They had designers from Korea, Hong Kong and Europe, to name a few, displaying beautiful pieces of jewelry to eccentric hats to wear to high tea. This is a great place for store owners and on-line entrepreneurs to find great new designers and new items for their inventory. I loved the vibe of the trade show filled with buyers, fashionistas and press who were all on the go checking out what the designers had in store for them. So hubby and I decided to treat ourselves to a foot massage during the weekend. Why not since an hour foot massage is only $15.00 USD. Of course before our journey to the Chinese Massage joint I had to grab a cup of coffee to get my day started. Since it was Sunday, I was already in my lazy mode so I decided to wear my oh so comfy shorts that I purchased at a market place in Bali. I fell in love with the shorts because of the little pom poms at the ends of the shorts and plus it only cost me $10.00. It was hard for me not to resist. Can’t ask for a better relaxing weekend. Touchdown! I’m back home in Chicago for a month. I was so excited to come home and see my friends and family. I also missed eating at M Henry, one of my favorite brunch places. Gorging on great food, what more can a girl ask for? It was nice to come back home and eat the yummy American brunch food. For some reason it’s been hard for me to find a great brunch spot while in Asia. I’ll be continuing my search for that amazing brunch place when we move to Singapore since my time in Malaysia was only for a year. My search will still continue, who knows maybe I’ll find that perfect brunch spot. I’m a Chicago girl, born and raised, so I’m used to the cold weather since I lived here all my life. However, since moving abroad where it’s summer all year round, it’s been an adjustment coming back home. Who knew I became such a wuss and could not handle that cold frigid air. However the perks to coming back home was wearing my fall/winter clothes again =) (Skirt: All Saints Similar; Boots: Acne Similar; T-shirt: Acne; Sweater: Community; Jacket: MM6; Bag: Alexander Wang; Jewelry: Pamela Love)
So, I was able to follow my friend to another shoot for a Malaysian Magazine called Glam. I was very excited for Aina since she will be in 2 publications for the month of March. Once we entered the studio for hair, make-up and accessories there were other personalities that were getting glammed up. I was drooling over all the shoes and clothes that were displayed and ready to be styled for all the girls. I fell in love with the Burberry studded coat and I just wanted to take the Celine shoes home with me. I had to really refrain myself from trying on all the cloths, shoes and accessories they prepared for all the girls. Can I say I just died when I saw the Celine reptile shoes and I was so happy that they were going to put Aina head to toe in Celine.
I ran across Otaki Clothinig on Instagram and instantly fell in love with the brand. The Night Out dress was a great fit for me because of how comfortable it is and it’s versatility since it can be worn during the day or at night. Otaki clothing uses 100% certified Lenpur yarn and fabrics, which are weaved by craftsmen in Italy. Each item is inspected for certification compliance and quality prior to putting the Otaki label on it.
Now what is Lenpur-Bamboo. Lempur is a 100 % cellulose which is a natural fiber. They are produced from branches from one of seven species of white pine that are grown only in China and Canada. Products from Lempur are great because it’s what makes the fabric soft, resistance to pulling and high washing, and great for summer and winter weather because it’s able to sustain higher thermal range.
Otaki yarn fabric uses a type of Bamboo that is grown from plantations free from pesticide, pollution and fertilizer. The natural fibers make this great product 100% biodegradable. The benefit of using Bamboo are softer, breathable and order controlling clothes. Bamboo fabrics are great for all weather because it draws moisture away during warm temperatures and acts as good insulator during cold winters. Who wouldn’t want clothes that features both characteristics.
Well lucky for all my readers you get to purchase their clothing for 20%off with the following promo code.
So during my trip in Tokyo I was able to wear this fabulous dress “Night Out Dress” during our dinner at the crazy Robot Restaurant Show. I loved that I was able to wear this dress during the freezing cold. I just paired it up with some leggings and boots and I was ready to go. Pardon for the limited amount of pictures for the Tokyo trip, the lighting was kind of hard to match because of all the crazy hypnotic lights and mirrors everywhere.

Can I just say I need to go back to Bali. I need to go back there as soon as possible please. I’m just thankful that it’s only a 3 hour plane ride from Malaysia. Bali definitely reminded me of Hawaii, but less commercialized or at least in the area we were staying in. I had an amazing time exploring the island and it was great that we had a driver for the day to take us around the island and give us a tour. We initially stopped Tanah Lot Temple and let me just tell you it’s breathtaking and a big tourist stop. The temple is one out of seven temples along the Balinese coast. Supposedly the myth that surrounds the temple is that poisonous sea snakes guards the temple from evil spirit and intruders. As we venture on, our guide takes us to an awesome Balinese seafood restaurant and we ate till our heart’s content. By the end of our tours we met our driver’s cousin who happens to own a surf shop. Hubby and I hung out with him and his friends and it was a very relaxing moment.
